We have reports of network issues in the West Maui area affecting mobile
service quality for various wireless and wi-fi customers in Lahaina.
Hawaiian Telcom reports that some customers in West Maui, including
Lahaina, Nāpili, Kāʻanapali and Kapalua, may be experiencing a temporary
disruption of phone and Internet service. Some wireless providers may
also be impacted, depending on how their network is designed.

Subject: Dish Network's Internal Systems Are So Broken Some
Employees Haven't Worked In Over a Day
An anonymous reader quotes a report from The Verge:
> Since Thursday morning, Dish Network has been experiencing a major outage
that's taken down the company's main websites, apps, and customer support
systems, and employees tell The Verge it's not clear what's going on inside
the company. The company's Dish.com website is completely blank save for a
notice apologizing for "any disruptions you may be having" while promising
that "teams are working hard to restore systems as soon as possible." The
Boost Mobile and Boost Infinite sites display a similar message. When we
called each brand's customer support lines, there were no humans on the other
end -- each call automatically hung up after delivering a recorded message
about the outage.

code are back in circulation

Since 212 numbers were depleted over a decade ago, New Yorkers have used
a variety of questionable methods and paid hundreds of dollars to
acquire their own. But while 212 remains an extremely rare commodity, a
few numbers have now come back into circulation.
Brenley Carmine, 23, stumbled upon this last week. He wanted to add a
second line onto his phone, he told Gothamist, so he bought an eSIM from
US Mobile, a mobile virtual network operator, or MVNO. An MVNO provides
users with an inexpensive wireless SIM card that draws telephone and
data services, including phone numbers, from one of the major cellular
carriers.
