[AT&T] has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for 220MW from the Minco V wind farm in Caddo county, central Oklahoma, and for 300MW from the Torrecillas project which is spread across Webb and Duvall counties in southern Texas. NextEra's Minco V was initially slated to come online this year, but has been delayed due to lawsuits with local landowners over the proximity of the site to their land. No update is given on NextaEra's project list on the developer's website, which was last updated on 31 December 2017. https://www.windpowermonthly.com/article/1456757/at-t-buys-520mw-nextera-sites -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180209171151.GA12742@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Fri, 9 Feb 2018 12:11:51 -0500 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Why AT&T's legal fight over Time Warner is a once-in-a- generation showdown By Mitchell Schnurman AT&T is about to enter rare territory, and the consequences could be far-reaching for the company and beyond. Next month, the Dallas-based telecom giant is scheduled to go to trial over its proposed merger with Time Warner Inc., owner of HBO, CNN, Turner and Warner Bros. studios. https://www.dallasnews.com/opinion/commentary/2018/02/09/atts-legal-fight-time-warner-generation-showdown -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <506BBD53-DC45-4637-ACD4-0184138884F2@roscom.com> Date: Thu, 8 Feb 2018 19:10:33 -0500 From: Monty Solomon <monty@roscom.com> Subject: Samsung and Roku Smart TVs Vulnerable to Hacking, Consumer Reports Finds Samsung and Roku Smart TVs Vulnerable to Hacking, Consumer Reports Finds Security and privacy testing of several brands also reveals broad-based data collection. And what if you've cancelled your cable package? Luckily, your options are plentiful. The opening ceremony of the 2018 Winter Games happens Friday in Pyeongchang, South Korea, but some of the competition actually starts sooner: Early rounds of curling and alpine skiing begin airing late Wednesday night; prime-time figure-skating coverage starts as soon as Thursday. For two and a half weeks, the networks and streaming platforms of NBCUniversal, which owns exclusive broadcast rights, will air so much skating, skiing and hockey you'll need multiple screens and DVRs to keep up with it all - more than 2,400 hours, in all. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/07/watching/winter-olympics-guide-how-to-watch.html ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Sat, 10 Feb 2018
