While there's long been a solid bench of competitors for Netflix (Hulu and Amazon Prime to name a couple), a horde of new players has entered the fight. They include entertainment titans like Disney, and most recently, AT&T (which now owns both Time Warner Media and DirectTV), and even tech giants like Facebook and Apple, which is rumored to be planning a global rollout of its new TV service for 2019. https://www.digitaltrends.com/movies/too-many-streaming-services-netflix-amazon-disney-att/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20181025144307.GA6566@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Thu, 25 Oct 2018 10:43:07 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Global Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC) Market 2018 Latest Facts Global Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC) Market 2018 Latest Facts: RCN, AT&T, XO Comm, Electric Lightwave, EarthLink By Nikhil Patil Global Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLEC) Market Size, Status and Forecast 2018-2025 is a professional and in-depth research report on the world's major regional market conditions, focusing on the main regions and the main countries. An online petition was posted asking Verizon to reconsider their decision to phase out 3G service in Lakewood because many residents don't wish to upgrade their phones that require 4G and 5G towers. Verizon said in a statement that they would support their 3G (EVDO) network through the end of the decade. But the company has spent $5.4 billion in New Jersey since 2015 on upgrading their network to 4G and laying the groundwork for 5G. http://nj1015.com/lakewood-residents-citing-religion-oppose-verizon-network-upgrade/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Fri, 26 Oct 2018
