One called "Honey Quest" features Jumbo, an animated bear. Yet these apps, once downloaded onto a smartphone, have the ability to keep tabs on the viewing habits of their users - some of whom may be children - even when the games aren't being played. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/28/business/media/alphonso-app-tracking.html ------------------------------ Message-ID: <860A205A-2443-41C7-B2A9-EB9EBCD40E63@roscom.com> Date: Thu, 28 Dec 2017 22:55:14 -0500 From: Monty Solomon <monty@roscom.com> Subject: Apple: A Message to Our Customers about iPhone Batteries and Performance A Message to Our Customers about iPhone Batteries and Performance We've been hearing feedback from our customers about the way we handle performance for iPhones with older batteries and how we have communicated that process. We know that some of you feel Apple has let you down. We apologize. There's been a lot of misunderstanding about this issue, so we would like to clarify and let you know about some changes we're making. https://www.apple.com/iphone-battery-and-performance/ iPhone Battery and Performance https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208387 ***** Moderator's Note ***** I'll give the ghost of Steve Jobs credit: this is disinformation at a Soviet level. Not only have the Apple PR hucksters (almost) brought off an unbelieveable con that every TV reporter in the world is helping them to sell, but not one media outlet has had to courage to say "J'accuse!" The mind boggles. I shoulda been a showman. Yet this kind of information gets leaked to telemarketers all the time. Some years ago I had borderline high blood sugar, and I started getting telemarketing calls from companies dealing in diabetic supplies. More recently I gave my phone number to another person's doctor, because she was having trouble keeping up with her appointments. One of her complaints is chronic pain, and now I'm getting telemarketing calls from companies dealing with that kind of ailment. So it seems your best friend can't get the info without your permission, but the telemarketers are getting it without permission. I wonder who in the medical chain of people is getting paid to leak that information to the scumbags. ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Sat, 30 Dec 2017
