The Washington Utilities and Transportation Commission levied today's fines, saying that CenturyLink failed to reroute emergency calls during the outage. CenturyLink is contracted to provide Washington's 911 services, along with those in six other states covering about 11 million people. During the outage, more than 5,600 calls failed to reach 911 operators and CenturyLink failed to alert the 911 call centers that the outage was taking place, according to regulators. http://www.geekwire.com/2016/centurylink-fined-another-2-9m-in-2014-statewide-911-outage/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <nbgb8a$is6$1@dont-email.me> Date: Sat, 5 Mar 2016 23:24:34 -0500 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Univsion accuses AT&T of 'Redlining' in cable fight By Brian Stelter Univision, the Spanish language broadcaster, says AT&T is discriminating against Hispanics by failing to reach a new distribution deal for Univision's stations. It appears they certainly deserved to be fined. A quick look at digest archives shows lots of articles about problems with CenturyLink. Would anyone care to speculate on whether this fine will motivate the company to improve its performance?
