We must fight spam for the same reason we fight crime: not because we are naive enough to believe that we will ever stamp it out, but because we do not want the kind of world that results when no one stands against crime.  - Geoffrey Welsh

Subject: I'm looking for telephone museums in the Carolinas and Tennessee Message-ID: <20120301173433.GA315@telecom.csail.mit.edu> I'll be flying into Charlotte, NC on March 22: I and my wife will be looking for homes in the Carolinas and Tennessee. In case of rainy days or other unexpected events, I'd like to know if there are any telephone museums in the areas we'll be travelling, which is roughly a circle with Charlotte at it's Eastern edge. CEO Sanjiv Ahuja announced his resignation Feb. 28, forcing Doug Smith, the company's chief network officer, and Marc Montagner, chief financial officer, to fill in as interim co-chief operating officers while the company searches for Ahuja's replacement. Ahuja will continue to serve as chairman of the board, the company said. http://www.bna.com/lightsquared-vows-replace-n12884908085/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my address to write to me directly)

Subject: Verizon Making Big LTE Push This Year Message-ID: <jip3gb$6uj$1@dont-email.me> Verizon Making Big LTE Push This Year Forbes Online by Trefis Team, Contributor Verizon may have been the first to launch its 4G LTE network more than a year ago, but customers have yet to take to the new high-speed technology. Speaking at an investor conference Monday, Verizon Wireless' CFO Fran Shammo said that only about 5% of its total customer base use an LTE smartphone right now. Verizon is currently well ahead of AT&T and Sprint in terms of LTE deployment with coverage in 196 markets across the U.S. It has also been actively promoting its LTE technology through the launch of cheaper smartphones and plans, and we believe LTE adoption rates are only going to pick up from here. http://www.forbes.com/sites/greatspeculations/2012/03/01/verizon-making-big-lte-push-this-year/ -or- http://goo.gl/QYPf7 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my address to write to me directly)

I cannot verify if this is from a CenturyLink employee - moderator.) Full Disclosure - I am a former CenturyLink employee. "CenturyLink . .Too many changes and layoffs. " by CenturyLink Benefits Administration Support in Vancouver, WA: (Past Employee - 2011) Pros People are nice and within small groups seem to work well together Cons Communication could improve. Feedback when there are performance issues could be improved. Instead of dealing with a problem and offering the opportunity for improvement management's way of dealing with the problem is just to fire an employee. There is not a balance in that response either since there are employees in other departments that have similar problems and they are just tolerated. Advice to Senior Management Open your door and communicate better. Give an employee the opportunity to improve and offer them a chance to do it rather than to wash your hands of it and throw them out. Everyone deserves a second chance to improve themselves. Your employees are your best assets. Don't let a down economy harden your hearts and only look at the bottom line. http://www.glassdoor.com/Reviews/Employee-Review-CenturyLink-RVW1084513.htm -or- http://goo.gl/5EZfZ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my address to write to me directly)
