If you read my original article you'd see that I addressed this that when they introduced GSM on cellular frequencies they decided for whatever reason to call it GSM 850. The truth is that it uses the same cellular frequencies used by analog AMPS, TDMA (IS-136) and CDMA. Those claim to be on 800 Mhz when the truth is that no cellular or PCS standard is exactly 800 or 1900 Mhz. They use one frequency to transmit and one to receive. Those frequencies are *around* 800 or 1900 Mhz.
