The company's request for the antitrust chief, Makan Delrahim, to testify is highly unusual. By putting Mr. Delrahim on the witness list, AT&T is effectively forcing him to defend his own decision to oppose the blockbuster merger. The trial over the Justice Department's lawsuit to stop the deal is scheduled to begin on March 19. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/02/14/business/att-antitrust-witness-delrahim.html -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <B742B7A0-8623-4E96-B9D6-9B7BAD08B7E2@roscom.com> Date: Wed, 14 Feb 2018 09:49:01 -0500 From: Monty Solomon <monty@roscom.com> Subject: AT&T Targets DOJ Antitrust Chief in Time Warner Fight AT&T Targets DOJ Antitrust Chief in Time Warner Fight Company lays the groundwork to challenge the legitimacy of government's antitrust suit By Brent Kendall and Drew FitzGerald WASHINGTON - AT&T Inc. is considering an unusual bid to seek testimony from the Justice Department's antitrust chief in the coming trial over its $85 billion purchase of Time Warner Inc., part of the companies' effort to challenge the legitimacy of the government's lawsuit. https://www.wsj.com/articles/at-t-lays-groundwork-to-challenge-antitrust-lawsuits-legitimacy-1518606832 ------------------------------ Message-ID: <D4B2C224-7DD5-49A5-BBDE-B755F94246CF@roscom.com> Date: Wed, 14 Feb 2018 20:35:28 -0500 From: Monty Solomon <monty@roscom.com> Subject: The FBI, CIA and NSA say American citizens shouldn't use Huawei phones The FBI, CIA and NSA say American citizens shouldn't use Huawei phones U.S. intelligence agencies have issued a stern warning to Americans: Do not buy smartphones made by Chinese tech companies Huawei or ZTE.
