Tucker County officials have been in contact with the company and service has been restored to the area. Officials said residents were calling with concerns of not being able to reach emergency services. https://www.wboy.com/top-stories/at-t-service-restored-in-tucker-county/1445142828 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180917003012.GA13374@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sun, 16 Sep 2018 20:30:12 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T are all offering huge discounts on the iPhone XS By Chris Mills Pre-orders for the iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max opened last night, and if you were hoping to score a new iPhone on launch day well, ... let's just say you should start lining up now. Delivery dates have already slipped to a month after launch for some models, and the trend is likely to keep getting worse. Part of the cause for the rapid sell-out is that three of the four major wireless carriers are already offering unusually aggressive promotions on the new iPhones. Verizon and AT&T will both give you $700 off a second device if you buy two phones, and T-Mobile just announced that it's offering the same deal. https://bgr.com/2018/09/14/best-iphone-xs-deal-t-mobile-vs-verizon-sprint/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180917002629.GA13353@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Sun, 16 Sep 2018 20:26:29 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: Tim Armstrong to depart as CEO of Verizon's Oath By Michael Sheetz Verizon's head of media and advertising Tim Armstrong will leave at the end of the year, the company announced Wednesday. CNBC reported Armstrong was in talks to leave as of Sept. 7. Armstrong came to Verizon in 2015 as part of the acquisition of AOL, where he was CEO. The company later bought Yahoo and combined the two divisions into a digital advertising unit called Oath but those efforts have yet to produce significant growth. Verizon has decided to integrate Oath more fully with the rest of the company's operations, according to a recent Wall Street Journal report, despite recent discussions about spinning off Oath into a separate business. https://www.cnbc.com/2018/09/12/tim-armstrong-out-at-verizons-oath.html -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Mon, 17 Sep 2018
