However, Verizon isn't cool with that, so Pixels sold by the carrier don't support bootloader unlocking. Or do they? An XDA poster has discovered a method for unlocking the bootloader on first-gen Verizon Pixels, and it's not even very complicated. All you'll need to get your Pixel or Pixel XL unlocked is a computer with ADB running. Remove your Google account from the phone, take the SIM card out, and reset your device (after backing up, of course). When it reboots, skip the entire setup process - don't even connect to WiFi. Then go into the settings and enable USB debugging. Next, you'll need to connect the phone to your PC and use the following ADB command. https://www.androidpolice.com/2018/05/28/method-discovered-unlock-bootloader-2016-verizon-pixels/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180529021007.GA11102@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Mon, 28 May 2018 22:10:07 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: AT&T outage causes Overland Plaza businesses to lose thousands It was supposed to be a simple repair job, but one utility company cut another company's line, and no one is moving fast enough to get things fixed. Author: Rico Bush OVERLAND, Mo. - A business man in Overland Plaza said a simple repair job by one utility company has caused him to lose thousands of dollars. The problem started last Monday and now business owners want to know when someone is going to put them back in business. https://www.ksdk.com/article/news/local/att-outage-causes-overland-plaza-businesses-to-lose-thousands/63-558581517 -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180529020629.GA11082@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Mon, 28 May 2018 22:06:29 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: FCC Plan To Limit Call-Connection Charges Gets Early Praise By Kelcee Griffis Law360 (May 24, 2018, 6:51 PM EDT) -- The Federal Communications Commission's new plan covering intercarrier compensation methods has garnered early support from CenturyLink Inc. and NTCA-The Rural Broadband Association, on the heels of an announcement last week that the agency will seek to root out billing practices used by phone carriers to inflate call-connection charges. Under the current plan, according to CenturyLink, "some carriers have an incentive to refuse requests for direct interconnection in order to obtain revenues or other benefits derived from charges imposed on interconnecting carriers." https://www.law360.com/telecom/articles/1046651/fcc-plan-to-limit-call-connection-charges-gets-early-praise -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ Message-ID: <20180529022502.GA11407@telecom.csail.mit.edu> Date: Mon, 28 May 2018 22:25:02 -0400 From: Bill Horne <bill@horneQRM.net> Subject: CWA Snubs AT&T's Final Contract Offer For 14,000 Workers The Communications Workers of America (CWA) has slammed AT&T's final offer for 14,000 workers covered by Midwest and Legacy T contracts, and who already have been given the go-ahead to strike. Earlier this month, the CWA's executive board voted to approve a strike. The decision allowed CWA President Chris Shelton to set a strike date if negotiators can't reach an agreement. The workers' contracts expired last month. https://www.channelpartnersonline.com/2018/05/24/cwa-snubs-atts-final-contract-offer-for-14000-workers/ -- Bill Horne (Remove QRM from my email address to write to me directly) ------------------------------ ********************************************* End of telecom Digest Tue, 29 May 2018
